Camera-on monitoring for live Zoom, Teams and Google Meet training

Many organisations ask participants to keep their cameras on during live online training, whether for engagement, safety or attendance requirements. Enforcing that fairly, while also delivering the session, is hard.

Support your camera-on policy, fairly

  • Set a reasonable threshold. Choose how long a camera may be off (5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes) before anyone is flagged, so a quick moment away never counts as absence.
  • Alerts, not accusations. The monitor is alerted. On Zoom, AttendSure can send the participant a polite private reminder in chat; on Teams and Meet, where private messages are not possible, you can choose to post a general reminder to the meeting chat. Nobody is named in front of the group.
  • Breaks don't count. Trainer Break Control pauses every timer during scheduled breaks.
  • A timestamped record. Every camera change is logged with its time, so any question afterwards can be answered from the record.

Tip for your camera-on policy

State the expectation up front, explain why, allow for connection problems and short breaks, and apply the same threshold to everyone. AttendSure makes the last two automatic.
